need psp help, various things

I need help with a few things in psp7. It must be ver 7. Either give a tip or post a whole tutorial

1.) I need to know how to make shapes like in an illustrator program. You know those logos, that r just symbol... Quite complex.
2.) How do i select the whole of a shape? If i need to select every pixel. The lasso tool is too unaccurate, the magic wand on selects one shade, is their a way of selecting everything expect the bg? This is on a raster layer.
3.) I need a tutorial on masking...

When you are using the Magic Wand goto tool options i think there might be something in there for what ur trying to do in #2.. Search Google for masking tutorials.. there are few though. Also, im Confused on what you are trying to do for #1.. try re explaining

well for one, i want to make basic shapes... but not just custom shapes in the shapes list. How do i make shapes like illustrator program can?

Your lasso could have some feathering on it, causing the accuracy to fail. Check your tool options for this.

no, it has no feathering... i don't think that you guys understand me properly... how can i select every pixel apart from the bg... Is there a way to select the bg and then select everything but the bg? Also i need a way to draw the shapes still...

if its a vector shape then you cant select the pixels individually! to do that you first have to convert that layer from vector to rasterlayer ( right click the layer in palet and convert it to rasterlayer)
