Open your eyes

I would like to know how to take my wedding photo of me and my father and open his eyes. As always my father has his eyes closed. Help.

first i´d tell him, to open them.
second: on a sunny day use an F5.6 ISO 100 and a shutter speed equal to these settings (as high as possible [around 800-1000]), so the cam shuts faster then your dad could ever blink.
third: call for him half a second before you hit the button.
