Walking Figures Animation.

Can someone write me up a tutorial on how to make a walking letter anination. for example 2 separate letters like M & F. I want the F to sort of make a walking effect towards the M. i know it sounds stupid but a friend is asking me if i can do it and i couldn't figure it out on my own. this is for photoshop cs3
