Flash Feature help

Sorry about the slightly misleading title of this topic, i couldnt think of anything more fitting. Anyway, on to why im posting it. Im trying to find a tutorial to follow to make my own feature box for a site im working on. By feature box i mean a box on the main page that shows the main news/articles dynamically. It would have buttons at the bottom to let the viewer change select the news article manually then follow the link to the full article. I believe this is all achieved by the flash file reading from an XML document. Is this correct?

An example can be seen on this website: http://www.gamernode.com/ at the top of the main news bit (its the only flash object on the page).

If anyone could help me out, by pointing me in the rite direction, or by telling me what exactly i should be googl'ing for, i have tried everything. Any links to tutorial would be great, i have experience with design and animation in flash but im a bit new to action script.

Thanks in advance,
