Pissed off with Amazon...

Ok, for christmas I asked my parents for a load of books.. not all nerdy may I add!

One of them was "The elements of typographic style" by Robert Bringhurst.

They were ordered about 4 weeks before christmas, and while all of the others have arrived, this one still hasn't.. Its really bugging me, as I have read most of the others and am in the process of finishing the penultimate one!

Bah.. *annoyed*

I never had too much trouble with Amazon. Did you email them? Are you sure it wasn't a preorder and you just didn't notice?

I haven't emailed them yet, they have emailed my mum a couple of times saying that it is still delayed..
Yeah, the book was released in 2001, so i'm pretty sure its not a preorder :P

exactly, i've spent so much money at barnes and noble it ridiculous.

From Amazon, or an individual seller? If it's a seller, just get a refund from them (or the Amazon A-to-Z thing) and re-order it. Filed an A-to-Z report when a CD hadn't arrived after 2 months, got the refund in a couple days and the CD from a different seller a week later.

edit: And much <3 for B&N. I spent a lot of cash on books at MediaPlay too, before they closed their stores .. rewards programs for the win!

Just tell the seller not to bother if its going to take him/her this long, get a refund and order it from another source.

Amazon is great for books, I've bought a couple of books from Barnes and Noble, but compared to the prices on Amazon B&N cant compete.

I'd never had much problem with Amazon until the xmas season. I ordered two books, they cancelled the order because my credit card address didn't match my home address even though I didn't change a damn thing. So I re-order and forget about it.

Finally checked about the middle of this month, it says they'll be shipped in March. Last week got a note saying they had shipped.

Haven't seen them yet, though I've gotten items I ordered after that from Newegg, and then placed another order with Monoprice and got that one via the USPS...so that's two orders I've placed successively since Amazon said they shipped, I've received both and still nothing from Amazon themselves.
