To all who replied with colors other than black and white:
Where ringpull says, "What puts less strain on the eyes," it's assumed that he means which of the two choices puts less strain on one's eyes. The word less in itself signifies that there are two or more items to compare...
If he wanted suggestions with other color combinations, he probably wouldn't have put a poll in in the first place.
I understand that what and which usually aren't interchangeable, and in this case which should have been used instead, since ringpull didn't say "What puts less strain on the eyes than <harsh color combination>" without the poll or "[Which of the poll options] puts less strain on the eyes" with the poll.

@Simon: Your example isn't exactly legit in this case, since something like measuring one's height could be a requirement for something that someone has to do, like a physical to enter the military. In this case, replying to this thread wasn't forced upon anyone. You can't choose to not measure your height in some cases; here, instead of offering up a combination like periwinkle and butterscotch, you can (GASP!) not reply! WHAT A CONCEPT!!!.

Man, I pwn at arguing a lot of the time.

I like to over-reply on things like this because I don't see any other intelligent discussion going on Sad
It's either that or trolling (getting banned IOW).

Love_souljah...we post with colors that aren't on the poll because we feel that those aren't good colors. ringpull should have make a third option that allowed us to choose our own colors.

Breathe...

Haha, alright guys, I'll try better next time to save on all your efforts Wink

But yeah, thanks for the replies. I only included black and white in the poll to get the general consensus as to whether light on dark, or dark on light, would be better for the eyes << I suppose I should have said that really. However:

1. If there were millions of poll options, it would end up with a couple of votes for each option (I assume) and a few people not voting and complaining that their colour choice should be on the poll. Then I'd end up still not knowing what I initially intended to find out.

2. By only limiting it to two choices, I have then given myself the option to choose my own colour theme (on the basis of using the most popular contrast choice as a result of the poll).
