Roflator'd! Anywho, stories like this are so tired. We need to be told something we don't know. ___________________ Come on, the internet is safe for people with brains. I met someone online once and she lives hundreds of miles away. One day she asked me if I'd like to come over for her birthday. I asked her if I could see her on a webcam first, just to be sure. She showed her face, smiled, we chatted over webcam for a while and that was it. I knew she was a real person, got on the plane, and had the best two weeks of that period in my life. I was just 18 at the time... Chances of getting murdered or harrassed by some guy are just as big on the internet as outside the internet. The girl played softball, if I were a pedophile it wouldn't be hard to just pick out one of the girls on the team, stalk her and kill her on her way home. No internet needed. Young girls just shouldn't give vital information period. Every girl I know was harrassed at one point in her life, just be careful not to facilitate it. Does this mean you can't mention your name on the internet? Of course not...
8 years you mean?

We're talking about kids and teens here. Most kids don't have common sense enough to tell good from possibly bad. This is why it is imparitive for parents to teach their kids to not give out any personal info to anyone you don't know personally. Remember, if you are messaged by someone you don't know, yet they say it's a friend from school, it very well could be but, a predator could have got that kid's personal info and now since you supposedly know who you're talking to, you are trustful and can now give out personal information. What you could do instead, is wait till y'all meet up at school the next couple days and then verify the online username. It happens that fast sometimes. The problem online is not the fact that there are more predators than there were before, it's just the current ones have found yet an easier way to get to kids. Before the internet, we had telephones and shoppoing malls. At least at that point, you could hear the person's voice on who you were speaking to, and in the mall, it's probably pretty tough to kidnap someone depending on the hours. Since the internet has become readily available to anyone, so much can happen in so little time because you don't have a face or voice to speak to. ___________________
I could just picture the "moral of the story" music from every south park episode when i got to this part. ___________________
yeah, its dam old, why she sent it was because of recent events in our area. Now WE know enough to track Shannon down. We're coming for you Shannon, Canton Junior High School, North Carolina. LOL
Lol. Yeah, the internet is safe if you're smart. That's why school takes so long to get out of, you need to wait for the slower kids ___________________ "Sam says : Die!" |
