i agree that a dedicated Mac and PC subforum would be a bad idea. this place was, afteral, started as a forum dedicated to helping the website creators community (hence the old name of Tutorial Forums), and not as a hardware discussion forum.

as for Mac forums, Apple's own discussion board is always a good place to turn too, although they have a pretty bad setup going. too many categories. you can also try http://www.macosx.com, or if you into classic macs you can try http://www.68kmla.com (68k Mac Liberation Army ). the mac forum community is typically dedicated to one aspect of macness, but you can ask pretty much any question. Macrurmors is definitely the biggest mac forum i'm aware of.
