Transparent Gradient
Hi,
This is starting to frustrate me....
I want to be able to use a transparent gradient on the same picture various times. I usually use a layer mask on a picture and then drag out a gradient for a fading effect. I want to fade the top right corner and the bottom left corner of the picture. With the method I use, it can only be done once, but I want what I did first to remain permanent, and then I drag out a gradient again and that also becomes permanent...and so on...
I kind of remember pressing a certain key while pulling out the gradient...or I could be wrong.
Please help!!

Layer -> Group with Previous might be what you're lookin for?

I am using CS2, it doesn't show me Group With Previous under the Layers menu....
However, I am pretty sure it was just pressing a button while dragging out the gradient to produce multiple fade outs on the same picture....I just can't remember....

If I understand what you are trying to do, is this something you are trying to accomplish:

I think so! I wanted to fade the top right and bottom left... how did you do that?

Click on the attachment image on my previous posting and see the green circles. I set the fill to the third gradient motif (it's like a black white black). On the layer mask, I clicked and dragged diagonally from the upper right to the bottom left. It may take you several tries to get the results you want.
Alternatively, you could use two layer masks (that is, a layer with two masks). You would do a regular gradient one way on one mask and another gradient going the other way on the other mask.
Hope that makes sense
