Repeating Floral/Fancy designs

I was hoping someone had a turoail for creating those fancy repeating floral designs you see on expensive fabric.

I've been trying to free hand it, but there has got to be an easier way.

The main image (the pattern) must be done by hand. There's no "easy" way on this. Even if you use Live Trace you'll probably have to edit the resulting trace.

However, to make a repeating pattern out of it you can use a plug-in such as SymmetryWorks:

Look for any floral type.... in dafont.com for example.
So... later create a pattern... Easy!
