profile mismatch??

My camera (Minolta A1) is set to record images in Adobe RGB - not embedded in the images. The Minolta RAW viewer tells me that a recent batch of images are indeed in Adobe RGB.

However, when I open them in PS (i've tried PS7 and CS2), PS tells me that the embedded profile of the doc does not match the current working space. PS goes on to say that the embedded profile is sRGB, and that the current working space is Adobe RGB.

FWIW, the color settings in PS are "North America Prepress 2" which includes Adobe RGB as working space; to preserve embedded profiles in RGB; and to ask if it detects mismatches.

So somehow it seems that the color profile is getting misinterpreted by PS - at least, as far as I can tell.

Ideas? Suggestions? Next steps? Thanks!

Did you check to see the version of your raw plugin is the most recent release? You could be having simple compatibility issues.

don't think that is the issue.. i shot some images with embedded Adobe RGB and these opened in PS with no intermediate steps..

Maybe the firmware on your camera is wonky.
