How far do you think technology will go?How far do you think technology will go?Currently viewing this thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) I think more organizations like Mozilla will arise and software/computers/etc will stop sucking as much they currently do.
We Already have some but they arent supported because of corporate intrests
I wonder if thatll be a good thing, hoping so though.
Ditto, Im thinking of moving to Switzerland, or New Zealand.
Computers dont really suck if you dont want them too, but yea your right computers will become an even more integral part of life. And im kinda awstruck by the fact that noones mentioned Flying Cars ___________________ Lies Hate double posting but we cant edit: Underwater Gills ___________________ Lies I haven't read the thread, but here goes my opinion: Can you think it? That's how far technology will go.
Of course not. They seem to be a dream everyone has had, but there hasn't really been any major advancements in that direction. Considering that there are the number of morons on the road now that can crash into my house, do we really need just as many flying through our houses. Society/humanity is still too immature to handle flying cars. Sure people could handle it, but look at the sheer number that have a hard time breathing while driving! I DON'T want flying cars, society can't handle it. I do tech support for a living, I spend 8 hours a day, dealing with people who are the manifestation of the reason why we shouldn't have flying cars. Leave the piloting of aircraft to certified pilots. Leave the ground for numb-skulls who try to put on make-up or read the newspaper while attempting(poorly) to operate a motor vehicle. Then, maybe, in 70 or 80 years, let's evaluate whether or not the I.Q. of humanity on a whole has increased enough to warrant building those things......or better yet, let's find ways to get the cars to drive themselves first, THEN work towards cars that fly, that way, we can take as much human error as possible out of the equation, which would far improve our chances of not having some dumb-*** crash landing into our kitchen while enjoying dinner. ___________________ I think technology will evolve to the point where we don't have to think for the technology as it can build/repair/destroy. we already have these capabilities, but it's still in it's infancies, and it will be a long time b4 everything s that way. telepathy will be the next big thing. ___________________
Umm lets see, plants that can live on Mars, space elvator (or a construction/space station on the moon), huge advances in augmented reality / verturial reality, possibly explosion of tech related to biology (cyborgness), advances in soldier/cop equipment and suits, energy sources, and wireless technologies more of that and soon. Oh and bottled water, that stuffs going places. ___________________ People without self-doubt scare me.
I think we will eventually be living like the people in Ghost in the Shell. well, 2 months after I posted last on this thread, and mentioned about global acknowlegdement of Global Warming, seems like it's getting there, I've been seeing lots of articles over the last couple of weeks, with alot of coverage, hopefully meaning that is where technology will go towards in the short term (next 20 years). well, visions/dreams can become realities. i think everntually we will have such things as recreations such as the movie westwood, and be able to live out history to gain a better understanding of it, instead of reading it in a book. books will become obsolete once we gain telepathy. then everything will be free. chaos will erupt, wars will cause the earthto almost crumble, then someone, a prophecy as some call him, comes forward and stops all the madness, then offers everyone something in which they all cannot turn down. but what is it??? ............ ___________________
