apple is not very good at lowering prices. its eaither you want the product for the price listed or go somewhere else. somehow, i think that is a good stratedgy, considering you have an incredible product or service.

i think ipods are cool and all, but when would i ever use one? If i'm not listening to music on this pc, i'm listening to it in my car. And i drive a lot, so why would i NEED to have portable music on me. I suppose it all depends on the situation. I've never really had the drive to fork out the rediculous amount of money for one, i'll tell you that.

Grayson: I've currently got a 1st gen mini (4gb) but it's now too small for my music collection and the battery has gone berserk on me (charge it in the morning, walk over to friends place, stick it in my ears for the 10-15min walk home and almost every time "Low Bat"... - it's pissing me off...)

Oh, and what colors the best? ;P

I like the white because im a traditionalist. But, the black shows up alot of fingerprints, dust, etc.

I'd go white. But, y'know, it's your preference.

btw, if you watched videos one after another, how long would the battery last?

An entire family guy episode uses about 35% of my battery power when fully charged. So it uses alot. Mainly that's due to the fact that it has to keep the backlight on the whole time, which probably consists of 90% of the power used.

No, m4a is the extension. Besides, m4a is short for "MP4 - AAC"

I'm getting an Ipod video (today, or tomorrow), so I've started converting my videos. However they all stay set as 'movies' in Itunes, I can't seem to find where I can change the video type. My old music videos are set to 'music video' but i can't seem to change any of my new files. Some of which are tv shows as well so i want to change them to that video type in itunes.

So yeah if any can tell me how to change the video type in iTunes that'd be great.
thanks,
-V

You can only set them to be 'movie' or 'music video'. Go to 'get info' -> 'options' and change video kind.

I answer questions at an ipod forum, god knows how many times i've answered that question...

Can't believe I couldn't find that, I would have sworn i looked there, I did it for some of my videos a while ago, I thought they removed the feature with a new version. D'oh.
Thanks a lot.

Sucks that you can't set it to tv show though.

I have another question about the ipod videos (as opposed to the shuffle i had - which work differently with iTunes): Is it possible to easily see which songs you have in itunes but not on your ipod and vice versa? So that I could primarily use the ipod to hold my files, but then if i added songs in itunes i could check which ones i don't have on my iPod yet.

Also, should i get a firewire card with the ipod? all i have now is a non-high-speed USB 2 port, which seems a little slow (eg using it to put files on a shuffle)

AFAIK, the new iPods don't support firewire.
