Consider that the weight gain might NOT be just due to increased protein intake. The increased protein intake is to support a lifestyle that has me working to the point where I naturally bulk up. If you simply take in the protein, your body will flush what it doesn't use and it's a wasted effort. And it could lead to other problems too.

Just be balanced. Change your habits if bulking up is that important to you. But also remember, at your age it's really, really hard to bulk up because your body is still growing and likely putting those calories to other uses, like maintaining metabolism. Until your body levels out in a few years, it's going to be damn near impossible to look like, say, me. Not trying to discourage you, but just keep it in mind. I'm short and stocky. I have two younger brothers who are four and five inches taller than me and skinny as rails despite all their efforts to bulk up. It's just their build. They can be fit and healthy but will never look as heavy as me simply because of proportion.

Something to keep in mind. Your goal is noble enough, but be aware of what is feasable to achieve for your age and work with that. Pushing past it is defeating the purpose (health, I'm hoping).

Thats a look that not everyone can pull off. I sure as hell know I couldn't.

I'll take that as a compliment. I never really thought about whether or not I could pull it off (no pun intended), I guess I just wore it and figured screw everyone who thinks it's weird. I'm scottish, it's my dang right. Smile

Good, cause it was ment as a compliment. Oh and I'm about 1/4 Scottish myself. In fact my cousin was married in a kelt and went to Scottland for his Honeymoon. Actually, I still have a cd of the scottish band that was playing there. And I gotta say, bagpipes just ain't my thing.

I have bagpipes, but I sound like a dying duck when I try to play them.

And anyone can wear a kilt. It's not a question of whether or not you can pull it off, but rather whether or not you have the confidence to do it. I get weird looks sometimes, but most people (at the mall or wherever) wind up thinking it's pretty awesome and say, "gee, I wish I had your confidence, but I just don't think I could pull it off."

*sigh*

No, but I think that I know enough to create easy work-outs. I just know stuff because I practice alot of volleyball, and what I learned and picked up. The going anaerobic during cycling is something I've found to be very effective on myself, but I didn't test it enough to assure it's going to work as well on others.

And yeah, I agree that a goal helps to go over a limit. That's why many people fail at working out, you need to keep a goal in mind, and to be good you should be measuring sizes to see if you're gaining anything. I don't know how to measure progress though, so you'll have to look that kind of stuff up yourself...

And don't develop anorexia like I did, still struggling against it pff

Well I can tell you that bulkin up at this age is hard. Tongue. I'm 15, almost 16 and it has taken me over a year to put on like 15 pounds. I work out 4 times a week (Offseason football training) and am only at a mere 155 (I'm 5'9"). Although, I'm pretty strong of my size. I can bench 185 and squat 270.
