Yes, I know...

...my computer has a plethora of problems, but most of them (most?) are fixed.

My current one is that my computer will freeze all of a sudden. The screen will go black and whatever sound is playing will start stuttering. I then reboot.

It has nothing to do with the amount of stress my computer is going through, as it happened about 5 minutes before I made this post.

Might be a jamed sector, try running 'defragment', if that doesn't work I suggest to reformat but then again, if that's not the case you might lose your data so thats just bah :\

save all files to a cd, then do what kedmyster said, and if that didnt fix it, at least you know it's not the hard drive...
