Changing height and width of a link in firefox

I am working on a calendar and I'm trying get it so the link is a block with the number in the top corner. It works fine in IE, but firefox doesn't want to change it's width/height. I can using the padding to do this, but it gets awkward... Especially since I'm trying to get it to be resizable.

Hopefully some of you guys will be able to help me out with this, thanks guys.

-Nick

did you try display:block; ?

Umm..also could you show us a sample of your code? That way it's easier to know what exactly you are asking for.
