Masking layer - opacity?
I'm creating something of a slideshow in Flash MX 2004 and I want to use the mask layer feature to fade the images in and out, rather than creating a tween for each picture, to save time. I tried just having the picture on the regular layer, and then on the mask layer tweening the opacity from 0% to 100%, but that didn't change anything. I tried a couple different things, but nothing seems to be working... Am I forgetting something, or is it not possible to have a fading effect using mask layers?
Any help is appreciated.

Hi,
You can't fade a picture by fading its mask. It's always been like that. Anyway, what do you mean with "save time" ? If your work is properly structured and coded (I'm assuming you know how to tween something by code) you shouldn't waste your time doing repetitive tasks...

Okay, I changed the idea slightly and went with something else, so it's all done and over with. At least now I'll know for next time that it isn't possible to do what I was trying to do. And as a side note, I don't know how to tween with code, so that's why I figured that it would save time to use a mask. Whenever I find myself doing repetitive tasks, I always figure there's an easier way, but I'm not very good with Actionscript...
