Sigur Rós are brilliant. I thought very few people listen to them, shows what I know.

I just listened to Serena Maneesh's self-titled album, which is their first I think, and it is AWESOME! I definitely recommend them. Here's a Pitchfork review of their album.

I downloaded some Neutral Milk Hotel the other day, but a lot of the songs have horrible sound. Any bass gets all distorted and make everything sound all nasty. I need to find some better recordings, I'm sure I would like them more.

Ive been getting into some acoustic mellow indie stuff recently. Iron & Wine, Sufjan Stevens and Nick Drake are all relatively new to me (within the last month or so).

Jack: you should listen to GY!BE's f#a#infinity if you havent already. It is very apocalyptic.

I have all their albums, plus bootlegs. ;)

As for why Neutral Milk Hotel gets fuzzy, that's actually on purpose. They call themselves "fuzz-folk." Some songs are crystal clear and others are fuzzy. But, excepting the original private tapes, the fuzziness is intentional. I've got copies of the original tapes that I cleaned up in SoundForge myself. If it's not your ticket, don't leave the station. To each their own. It took me a little while to get used to it and it's grown on me. It's an interesting alternative to always perfect clarity bass. Plus I think the horns are neat, but then again, I'm a huge CAKE fan.

meh.. i'm not so keen on them...

i have been listening to a lot more music recently of different genre's and have found some bands that i have just been humming along to constantly..

Fall Out Boy
Air
Motion City Soundtrack
