Business Cards (The musts and the nots)
So reading that article on business cards..
What are the "must haves" of a business card .. for webdesign or a design studio?
What should not be on there...?
Any samples of cards you consider to be "clean" yet effective... meaning "just right".
Thanks.

not more than 4 colours.
for a webdesign or design studio include an email address as a perminant address is likely to change more often than the email addy.

Techincally in the printing word you can't have more than 4 colors because to a printer all colors can be comprised of CMYK, so if you have 22 different colors in your b-card but they are comprised of C,M,K then its technically only a 3 color job.
The one caveat to this is metallic inks. These are expensive, but techically count as a 5th color and heres why: A printing press uses 4 plates (C, M,Y,K) to do a metallic color that actually add another plate (PANTONE of your metallic color) and run that through. They charge you for that (setup & stuff) so it can be expensive.
To answer the orginal question from this thread.
I would say bare minimum should be:
Your name
Business Name
URL
Contact info (even if it's just a phone number or just an email address, it doesn't have to be your full street address)

I would think something@yourdomain would be more professional that something@gmail.com
but that's just my opinion

I'd agree, but I think he meant that you could lose access to the email if you gave up on the domain. In that sense Gmail and so on are more reliable, but if you don't think it's likely that you'll want/need to stop paying for the domain, I would stick with that, because it does look better.

I have something I did a few weeks ago on a offer for a friend. It was done for free and using only what he had on his previous business card in a much more refined way.

What I'm asking is what could I have done to make it better?
The one he made is http://gfx.eggo.us/stuff/AJBC.jpg
