it has nothing to do with com's...it's a resource sucker, plain and simple.
the only improvement in v10 is in regards to photos...look out PS...lol
it runs fine on my com too but not everyone is you nor I...silly goose

folks are complaining already. Corel wont release a trial version. Folks are just suppose to fork over the dough and complain later. they even closed the forum down and went to newsgroups so theydont have to deal with it...silly company. They will pay dearly for it.

It's expected that it will be more resource intensive. Six or seven years ago things could still run on 64mb of RAM. You wouldn't expect that anymore would you? Of course not. Speaking of which, how much RAM do you have? If you're still on a lousy 128mb or 258mb, it's bound to be kind of slow.

I'm even upgrading my 512mbPC3200 to 1.5GB soon - the games today need it, the programs today like it. :)

P.S.
I have Paint Shop Pro 7 (which I never use anymore, you have to love Photoshop).
