PSP Lighting Effect Options

I've got decent skill in Paint Shop Pro, but nothing really fancy. Anyway, what I'm out to create something to this effect:

Clicky

Most of it is quite straightforward (though time-consuming!), but what I can't seem to duplicate is this kind of lighting. Any help on that? I just need to be pointed in the right direction.

Ah, another question. Does anyone know of some tutorials that deal with this kind of drawing? As in, how to go about creating them? I've gotten to know PSP fairly well - but I've hit some kind of invisible wall, and I'm not getting much further. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Second edit: Does anyone know how to load Plugins into Paint Shop Pro? I have a plugin that I need for a certain tutorial, but I can't figure out how to use it with Paint Shop Pro.

Thanks.

Which version of PSP are you using? Please note this when relating to anything psp.
Why, well v4 doesnt do what v5 can do nor does v5 do anything near what v6 can do and v6 doesnt compare to 7 nor do any compare to 8 or 9.

Plugins:
under program files> jasc> paintshop Pro, create a folder called Plugins.
If the file you downloaded is a .8bf file just copy it to this new folder. If it's an install
type plugin then direct the install to that folder by selecting browse when installing.
In psp check if its there under effects, if it's not go File>Preferences>File Locations
and click on plugins and make sure there is a checkmark on the line for .8bf, to allow them.

This is vector art drawing, see your shapes or pen tools and your mesp warp tools.
Look for vector tutorials.

This image was done in Photoshop. Lighting has to be applied on a different layer behind the object you want in front. Look for lighting effects in PSP.

Here are two psp links that every psper should have in there bookmarks...
http://pspug.org/
this is the users group organization that is everything psp, get answers in the forum, usually before the day is out. joining/sign up is free. has free tuts, stuff, links, its all there.
http://www.psplinks.com/
the number 1 resource on how to do psp stuff. use the search, or the list.

Anyhow hope this has help u either way.

Thanks a bunch. First of all, I'm using PSP 9, sorry I forgot to mention that.

Anyway, thanks a bunch for the links. I'm checking those out right now. And thank you so much! I never thought to look under the effects folder, silly me.

Sounds great, StickManArmy.
Those effect tools can come in quite handy at times.
And there is tons of plugins for it to. When looking for plugins remember that Photoshop
Plugins will work as well but only the .8fb ones.

Here are two links to plugins...
