I, personally, use Trillian. But that's only because I use trillian for instant messaging, also, and I want my IRC client to be combined with it. I don't need any of the features X-Chat offers; I just want to chat.

Plus, I've gotten used to Trillian's interfaces. However, I use X-Chat on Linux, and if you want it seperate from your IM program, it's great.

mIRC is the only IRC client I'd consider using under Windows.

X-Chat is my favorite (largely because I'm an open-source software advocate). Irssi is really nice in features too, but you have to run it from a terminal/console. No GUI. :P

I am with everyone else, I love X-Chat. In fact, I've been using it since before it went paid (The prebuilt Windows version), quite a few years now. Never had a single problem with it either. For a while I was compiling it myself but then I got lazy and now download precompiled versions.

One of these days I'm gunna buy the official version though, just cause the one donation I made of $5 a couple years back just doesn't seem like enough.

Oh and on a sidenote, a few friends of mine who are rather computer illiterate thought it was a porn chat program, heh. Guess that shows what they think of me.
