Or on the flipside, if you think it could stand some improvement, how about offering suggestions other than "make it 100 times better". Just a friendly suggestion (in case you weren't sure).

I really don't see how it looks just like Deviant Art, unless you're talking about the overall concept and haven't ever seen any other studio/gallery community before...then sure. But otherwise I'm quite certain this will kick DA's *** in the faster-than-thou department.

Do you have a new magical way to present data? Hmm? There are only so many ways to present and show information on a webpage, how do we make it 100 times better? Should I have it 3D so I can have it pop out at you?

There is honestly no other way to design it to be 'effective' to browse and use, I could use the very popular and tacky method software like PhotoPost and so forth use, which is too forumish for my tastes. Deviantart has set a 'standard' in how things are displayed and interpreted. Many other communities use a similar method. There are only so many ways to present and display information, so whether or not it looks like DA is irrelevant. The upside is those who are familiar with the giant may find it more familiar(and possibly easier to use given our navigation system we're building into it) therefore, I fail to see the problem.

I'm sure DA werent the first to set up a site where you could upload and show off artwork. Look how Shadowness has changed. Like Locke said, theres no other way of doing it.

I'm not negative at all, it's just a waste of time to do something that has been done before.
So instead of copying you should come up with a new idea, or improve this.

Maybe you are making it a lot better than anything out there, but right now it doesn't even seem half as good as the rest.
Keep working on it though.

You haven't even seen it in action yet, so save your 'impressive' comments until it is. I fail to see how you can even judge that based on screenshots alone without viewing the functionality. That is the goofiest statement I've ever heard. As I've said, this is how data is presented, you haven't even seen the functionality yet so making such claims are ignorant at best.

How about actually offering feedback/suggestions instead of posting your impressive meter? Just a 'suggestion', I don't take too kindly to people who just piss on ideas without offering alternative suggestions.

I suppose since we're using forums we're copying also. Hahaha...

You're right, it is a waste of time to do the same exact thing thats been done before - you should stop posting the same "you copy da" comment thats been said only a thousand times before. Learn your own lesson.

Point in case is everything is inspired or 'familiar' with some place else. That's because there are only SO MANY WAYS to present data on the web. It's not copying in the least, we're taking a 'product' that many love and our community has demanded we come out with. We've made ours extremely fast and stable thus far, all of our efforts so far from creating our own forum and so forth could be considered copying of many things.

You can only judge how good it is when it's released and you can test the functionality, until then saying it 'looks the same' is a rather mute point because we can't display it any different... it's just not possible. I'm also not going to sacrifice usability & accesibility to please a member or two who think by designing it differently will make it more 'unique'.
