hello

It looks like they just start with a grey base image of the shoe, and apply different colored layers to it. To make it work you need to prepare the layers so they fit perfectly onto the base layer and are transparent correctly.

Hence the idea have only requires one shoe and I could limit the options of the color, would it still be hard. Say I have one base color , which will be the white shoe, then in photoshop I make the other colors for the different layers? How would I go buy linking all those colored layers and etc? Thanks for replying all thanks

if you only have one shoe and not many colour options it shouldnt be very hard atall...

in the other frame you will need to have the whole shoe including the new colour.. not just the bit of colour you want to change..

so in order to do that, I will have to make all possible combinations on each and every frame , I hope that sounds right im confused a little bit.

Ok its easy to do all the colors, I go all the images transparent and etc, now its just a matter of making them all change when a user clicks them in Flash, Buy the way Im using Flash MX ..

Say we have the Base white shoe, now we have options , Ex : Tongue of Shoe / Colors - Blue Red White, .. Then the second option is Shoe Strings - Blue Red White .. (there will be more options this is just an example ) So when a user selects the Tongue option and choose " RED " the shoe turns when then The User goes down to Shoe Strings and choose the color " BLUE " , how do I make the tongue stay red and the shoe string blue ./ sO IF the user decides to go back up and change the Tongue the shoe string color will remain the same and vice versa. I hope I didnt call any confusion with alll that ^^ lol sorry. Im just a little confused thanks .

I think they used the colour object and just applyed a colour transform to a grey image of that part of the shoe. If you look closely on the site a lot of the shoes look like the parts that change colour are obviously seperate images.

Hey Smurtf2002

I have different colors of each part of the shoe I want to change, the problem is getting them to change back and forth on user command.

See I made a simple one , the user can click a " Blue " button to turn the soles of the shoe blue , but say if a user now wants to change the color of the shoe strings to " RED " the blue soles will go away unless the They are both on the same frame.

They didn't even have different colours of each part, they just used the color object and the color method setTransform to change the colours of the grey images. I'll try and work up and example for you sometime soon either later tonight or tomorrow.
