Shoe Customizer

Hey Hard would it be to complete a shoe customizer , like NIKEID has on there site to customize shoes, like so users can change the colors of certain parts of a shoe.

maybe, Im thinking maybe i would have to create all possible combination images and link them some how in flash

i wouldnt have thought that would be how they did it.. it seems a bit long winded...

It's probable that all the combinations are prepared in advance. Assembling the combinations on the fly would probably be immensely more complicated. I haven't see the site you're referring though, and I'm not very knowledgeable in flash so I can't help you out more than that.

It depends, if all your doing is changing colors then it shouldn't be TOO hard to have each color of each piece as a different image, all the same size and then just load them in as they request them.

yeah but i was just looking at the sheer amount of options you have, there is 36 different options for each shoe, and there are atleast 20 shoes... i would have thought it was done with some kind of math formula but i'm not really shure :S

What kind of math formula? Can't really see a maths formula generating images of shoes :P

and it wouldnt be a math formula to generate pictures of shoes.. it would be a formula to change colour's of specific elements of the shoe.. i'm not shure if its possible but thats the only thing i can think of without creating hundreds of images..
