How to create a metal bar with curves
Can someone tell me how to create a metal bar just like the one below that has a gradient and also show how to create 90 degree angles (basically a U)? I can make a straight line that looks like that, but I can't get it to work right when adding the curves.

What version of Photoshop? I think you should be able to do something like that in layer styles in PS 7 on.

I'm using CS. The problem is that the gradient doesn't follow the curve, it just gets all off like in the image above.

Make your curved bar white. Then add an inner shadow layer style, adjust this to your liking.

Or cut it up in three parts. The horizontal bar, the vertical bar and the corner.
The horizontal, you got. The vertical is simply a gradient from another angle. The corner could be a circle/donut with a Radial gradient.
After that, merge them together in any way you like.

Personally, I would dodge & burn.
