Question about 3d modeling / animation

I'm studying in multimedia in college and I gotta say i'm kinda bad in illustrator with the pen tool and i'm really bad at drawing.

But 3d modeling / animation in videogames/movies/everything else seems to really interest me alot! do I need to be good in drawing to become a 3d artist?

else.. what should I be good in to be a 3d artist?

It all depends on what you want to do in 3D.
I do product design in college, so I need to know technical drawing (i.e. front, top, left, right, bottom views) in order to make my model look perfect.
You don't exactly need to know how to draw perfectly (for technical drawing I use rulers a lot, I couldn't possibly do it all by hand), but you should know the basics (geometry, perspective, lighting) in order to give more life to your model.

it depends on what aspect you want to do and on how big a scale. If you modelled fora gaming company then there is usually other ppl that do lighting, texturing etc so you *may* not need to use them. However it would be better if you knew at least how it all worked so that your skills will be more rounded out.

Brazil acts as a replacement for the 3dsm default renderer. In other words, while you model in 3dsm, your finaly rendered image will be created by Brazil.
