I'm very satisfied with design.
I really like how the top bit turned out, including the links (the Portfolio one is highlighted)

The right bar still needs some work, looks empty and doesn't fit but I can't get it looking right...

Looks a bit better in the modified one... still not 100% happy...

v2 looks a lot nicer but it is missing something and I think it may be something graphical. Maybe a stock of a canadian landmark where the 'made in canada' part is instead of the diagonal stripes.

I would have to agree, I like the changes that you have made. I would prefer to look at the modified version.
Suggestion
- the gradient on the right side of the content box might be too much for me. When i am reading it or should i say following the text across my eyes shift off to the right and follow the gradient to the side navigation instead of going down to the next line. Still use the gradient but lighten it up so it is more like the left side gradient in the content box.
- Play around with the background of the header, it seems a little empty at the moment, maybe its just the positioning of the text , but see what is like if you add something graphical behind it, but not something that is distracting from the content. Which can be hard to find.

WOW, its come a long way, that looks soooo much better, i would have to say i like the second or the last one the most, prolly the last one. I think i like the last one the most because the way the colors work with the rest of the site. Im really starting to like it. Hmm now the upper right looks a little empty. Try playing around with some things up there, no real ideas at the moment how to help it, but try some things and experiment.

Now I'm gonna try to spice up the top-right grey thing and the right orange thing.

nice i like that, its works well , maybe take the gradients on the top and bottom a little lighter in the top right box. Also the section dividers on the right are a little too thin imo, see what it looks like if you have the same stroke width as you do for the white dividers. Its awesome to see how far this website design has gone from beginning to end, great work

Well, the borders are all 1px and making it 2px looks retarded but I did make them a tade whiter well, less transparent.
The gradients are more transparent so it looks a bit better now.
The diagonals are more transparent behind the MIC bit.
The link underline is now the same color as the link text.

I'm now thinking about the background, might texture it...
Also not satisfied completly with the simple inner shadow on the right bar...
I'll think about it in the shower!

yea, the inner shadow on the right isnt working to good. It looks like it is set down into the page (if that makes sense. Youll have to play around I suppose unitl you find something that works. And for the background texture, something like the neverside texture might be interesting, liek a cross hatch (i think it is what it is called, although im prolly wrong) with a low opacity. Hope your shower was inspireing, laff
