Opening and editting PSD's in PSP?
Hey Guys.
I have a layered PSD that I need to edit, if I open it in PSP I get 'this contains unsupported features' and it treats the file as a single layer. Is there a way I can maybe convert the layered PSD to a layered PSP file so i can edit the layers?
Thanks Guys,
Christian

Which version of PSP are you using?
Since Photoshop v7 PSP hasn't been able to handle the PSD files properly because of all the "unknown" stuff in those files.

i haven't come across any reference to this.
however, the option maybe to save the file as a pspimage & remove the background with the magic wand or remove the object if it is one color & paste as new image.
i'm sure i seen something in relation to this somewhere but i'll be daft if i can find it now.
i'll keep looking, maybe you could try a search for ' viewing psd images in psp'

That doesn't really seem to be the problem, the problem is that the image simply loses its layers when viewed in PSP.

okay...well that didn't help...lol
thanks malephika
sometimes i get images in psd format which, when opened in psp seem to merge. the object becomes rather dark on an even darker background. Sometimes the object can be removed, sometimes the background can be removed, sometimes with or sometimes without damaging the object.
Using PSD's in Paintshop? scroll down to read what John (Straightman) has to say at this site...
