World Wide Figures for Drug Users
I want to know what the estimated use of certain drugs is world wide.
An example would be 1 million marijuana users in the world or something.

"There are 1.3 billion tobacco smokers in the world, seven times more than drug users. The World Health Organization estimates that some 200,000 people died because of drug abuse in the year 2000, equivalent to 0.4 per cent of all deaths worldwide. Tobacco, however, claimed 25 times as many lives (4.9 million), equivalent to 8.8 per cent of all deaths. If the measure of disability-adjusted life years is used, then drug abuse would have caused the loss of 11.2 million years of healthy life, but tobacco would have caused the loss of five times as many years of healthy life (59.1million)."
Theres a start... I just typed you subject in google - give it a try lazy... :P

I think they should legalize marijuana, just think of the revenue it would bring in if it was taxed the same as tabacco

Just think of the ammount of illegal dealers who would continue, therefore not paying tax, but then users paying exactly the same as always.
Although in that case dealers would be convicted not only for dealing but also as a felony against the state, that would get them in a little more bother.

In all honesty I think the revenue secured by marijuana import and export and other things is much more now then it ever could be if it was legalized...
Only reason I could ever figure to why it's not legalized since 1. its legal in certain states for medication purposes (load of crap that is).
It's tolerated in other places so anything up to and including an ounce, not broken down is a fine and nothing more no matter how many times.
The benefits of non abusive usage exist and alchohol which is legal is lethal compared to marijauna on long term basis...
And finally...

Legalizing marijuana might mean huge profit in the short-term. In the long run, ideally, marijuana use would be non-existant. Most people don't argue to legalize it for the profit, but rather to eliminate marijuana all together. If their argument is valid, I don't know.
