vector images in photoshop

I cant work out how to create a vector image using adobe photoshop, an ideas how to do it?

By using Illustrator. Photoshop is a raster program, not vector.
You can make something that looks vector-styled with the pen tool, but stick to Illustrator for vectors.

No, the pen tool can make vectors. What you need to do is use the pen tool, by click and dragging, then alt clicking on the dot. Then repeat.

The pen tool makes vector containers with raster fills, not true vector objects. As Johngo32 posted.. use Illustrator for vectors, not Photoshop.

While we're on this topic I have a question...

Is there any easy way to export a vector piece (containters with raster fill of course) from Photoshop to Illustrator?

You can export paths from Photoshop t Illustrator ErinGoBrath. Simply choose File > Export > Paths to Illustrator. You will not get fills in Illustrator but you will get paths.
