inDesign_inverting...

I've been having trouble inverting two objects in InDesign. What I have is two black surfaces, text and a logo. Both are black. I'd like to have the text overlaying the logo and inverting (white) where the two objects intersect and overlay. I've been playing around with the transparency options for an hour and I'm just not getting it. Is this possible? Thanks in advance.

Hello renderingfarmer, I'm not too familiar with Indy...but I would look for an exclude command. In Illustrator, I would select both logo and text, then in the pathfinder palette select exclude...hope this helps.

Good Luck,
rooster

Select your type. Convert it to outlines (Type > Create outlines)

Then select both the type and the box and choose Object > Pathfinder > Exclude overlap from the menu.

You can not do what you are trying to do with live type. It must be outlined.
