PS > ILLUSTRATOR for brochure print work

Alright here is my deal, basically im making a brochure for a company and ofcourse its going to be printed. I have done the actual template with images and colors etc in PS, at 300 DPI and CMYK ...... however, i dont want to add the content text to the brochure in photoshop because the quality of text is crap in photoshop especially when its small and for print work.

So now i take the image into Illustratior to add the text..... but the image appears really small, and when i zoom in it looses quality. Why does it apear small in AI?

thanks a bunch for the help im going to recieve.

you have to make sure the image you're using is the correct size ... and, illustrator (being a vector-based program) is set at 600 dpi. still, if you're image isn't the correct dimensions, this will happen.

i've created brochures before using both ps and illy, but i never started my layout in ps. you should have your template made in illy and then create the necessary images in ps.

Use Illustrator to complete your layout. Then place any Photoshop images you want in the layout into the Illustrator document. Don't take text from one application to the other. Think of Illustrator as your main container and anything created in Photoshop will be placed into that container.
