hi can someone show me how to make smooth shiney chrome for cinema 4d release 8 plz thx

Go into the material's settings and turn off everything apart from Reflection. For a brushed look you could also set the dispersion to around 60-80%. Dispersion can slow down render times though so you might not want to use too much.

You wont need it anyway since you're wanting a smooth chrome look. But dispersion simulates tiny bumps on the surface to give the reflection a blurred look as the reflection is scattered. This is like giving the material a very fine bumpmap and turning up the anti-aliasing.

In the attached image, the left sphere has no dispersion and the right sphere has a dispersion of 65%.
