Merging Layers

first off, i use photoshop cs, and work primarily with the shape and pen tools. when i save as an .eps i am able to create what i think is a 'vector'.

my question is, is it possible to merge these path layers in photoshop in anyway? beacuse i know that after rasterizing, a shape would lose its vector characteristics.

thanks

Nothing in Photoshop is vector.

Davis, what are you talking about? Of course vector elements work in PS. Please take PS101.Shocked

As far as your question goes, hydro, once you rasterize, you're into bitmaps, so merging thing is a different animal. If you have access to Illustrator or Corel Draw or Canvas, you can mix, merge, or any other combination of your vectors.

Wrong and wrong. There are several vector tools in Photoshop, the pen tool, shape tool, type tool. The paths these create are true vector paths, when you fill them with colour, the colour is raster, however, if you enlarge the path, the fill enlarges with it. Kind of a psuedo vector if you will however the actual paths are vectors.

If when you say merging layers you mean the actual bitmap layers then no, thats not vector, but if you mean merging all the paths into one path layer then it is still a vector...
