If they're not doing random picks, I think it would matter. They'd want users with as many different setups as possible to test the game to iron out the bugs for pretty much everyone.

I was making light of Nvidia's endorsement.

Even if they did care, they wouldn't have any way to find out.

They are doing the selection randomly. Everybody who signs up gets their name put in a hat. If they wanted specific types of machines, they would have asked for your dxdiag file.
