u get taht T_ECHO error cuz u missed an ; after $news_mail = $row['mail']

it should be

$news_mail = $row['mail'];

edit: oops ddint notice there were 2 pages

btw when you are just looking for one row you dont need to use LIMIT

$result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM news WHERE id={$id}") or die (mysql_error());

this will work perfect on its own
