traparency image
how do i make my image tranparency. for example first i draw like a rectangle and color it white. and set the opacity to 50 and that let u c thru wateva is under that object rite? but after i save it as .gif and upload it online it is not the same as wat i see in photoshop. how can i make it tranparency after i save it as .gif. thanks

Did you make the white rectange on a new layer and not the background layer? And after that did u delete teh background layer?

i neva try that but usually i create a new layer File> New> content i pick tranparancy. i draw a rectangle there and set the opacity to 50
and i did try to draw it on the new layer with white bg after that i did delete the bg layer still not working.

hmm... What id do 2 make a transparent rectangle, is:
File New>
New Layer>
Marquee Fill> Lower Opacity
Click & Drag Backgroun Layer to trashcan to delete it
and save it as GIF...
Make sure you made the rectangle on a seperate layer then the background, u deleted the background layer, and you saved it as a GIF file.
If you checked over all of these and its still not working, talk to me on AIM (if you have it) and ill help ya out...

when you save it as a gif, make sure you have the transparency option clicked. You also, as he said, need to delete the background. If there's a background the gif will flatten it.
