The forums isn't very inviting to say the least, and doesn't have much to entertain me for the few seconds I'm there. You have to beable to make it friendly and make it so people actually want to be a part of it.
I'd really like to hear constructive observations and suggestions from you.

They are constructive and they are suggestions. I told you your forums is basic and not welcoming. Those are ways to fix it. Forums are built on people that want to goto them for information, help, and to some times be lame. Provide that for people, with a design easy on the eyes and your forums will do well. Easy as that. I'm not quite sure how I can get much more basic in explaining to you than that.
