n00b to 3dsm
I am an absolute newb to 3dsm and was wondering where I could get some extremely basic tutorials, or sites that can outline the program for me. I am expert with photoshop, if that means anything I guess and I was trying to combine my skills, and get into some 3dsm. Thx for your time

The knowledge you have in PS has nothing to do with any 3d program. You need to learn how to work with polygons and meshes. You could do like me and just play around for a while untill you get the basics of the program and keep trying more difficult things.
and http://www.google.com is a great tutorial site they have millions if not more

You cannot compare skills with 3ds Max and Photoshop...those are two completely different programs for different aspects of design.
Go to 3dluvr.com , 3dcafe.com, total3d.com, for starters. Another thing that I suggest is that you go visit your local bookstore and read all the books and latest 3d magazines...

a lot of good start me up tutorials etc are listed in there. I'd atleast give it a shot.
And theyre right about photoshop and 3d being really different. Angles and polygons and lighting, its all completely different

If you're an expert with photoshop you should by now have learned some design concepts, so now all you have to do is find a 3D program (or choose 3DS as you have) and apply those to this new medium. you should not follow tutorials, you should go and find a book, and use that to learn what the program can do for you.
once you have begun to master the program you can then apply these design fundamentals you know from being an 'expert' in photoshop to 3D. If you are so inclined you don't even need a book, it is very possible to learn even advanded programs like 3DS (although it is not even close to an advanced 3D platform) on your own. self teaching is much more rewarding then simply following tutorials, as most tutorials are not aimed at you learning, but you reproducing.
I hope you follow these words, you will come off as a better modeler if you dont simply duplicate what is shown in tutorials, but take initiative and learn the hard, and proper way.
