Personally, I am tired of all the people selling the Gmail invitation, I don't have a Gmail account yet, so I may be missing out but I really don't understand what the big craze is about. It's just an email account and as most of us here are webmasters, with own hosting, we can get just as much space for our email accounts. I would never use that much space, it's really a lot.

I think Google is right by making those amendments to their terms of use but I highly doubt this will stop people from selling the accounts, the sales are conducted in private, via PM on forums or AIM and other messenger programs. I really don't see how Google can monitor those sales.

Yes, Gmail will be free and open to anyone once it is out of beta.

Hello,

Thank you for your message.

While we're testing Gmail, we are also making improvements to our policies
and procedures. We recently made changes to the Gmail Program Policies in
order to better protect Gmail users, and to put our policies more in line
with those of other webmail providers. To read the updated version of the
Gmail Program Policies, please visit:
http://gmail.google.com/gmail/help/program_policies.html.

Please note that you may sell unused Gmail invitations.

We hope you enjoy Google's approach to email.

Sincerely,

The Gmail Team
