Printing Large Posters
im in need of some help so where better to ask....
I have a poster that needs printing which is 2ft x 10ft
and im printing to a HP DesignJet 120nr using an iMac G4
The image is just a plain flat background with text
when i print all goes well - the printer starts up as its about to kick into action then does nothing?
Ive tried everything to get this to work even setting it out again in - freehand & InDesign but still no luck. InDesign does the same as Illustrator and freehand just has trouble with the paper size even though everything is set-up ok.
Im at the point of thrashing the printer with a baseball bat or throwing it under the guilitine!!
can anyone suggest why im having trouble printing posters - anything that i try to print which isnt in the preset sizes (Larger than A1 on the roll feed) i have nightmares with.
Also is there any specialised software for large format printing or should i be ok using illustrator/freehand etc
cheers

The software should be fine, I've done that quite often. The problem most likely lies with the printer.
Try checking for new drivers for the printer and see if that helps. There might be some information on HP's website about that specific issue.
If you're using OS X make sure the printer is turned on before you set your document settings so it can read the printer information and make the correct settings.
