Why would you really want to vector for buisness cards. Just make a design chaka42Status: Offline!
actually, if someone doesn't have publishing software like quark, indesign or pagemaker, illustrator is your best bet. why? 1) you can use spot colors easily, 2) document with margins is setup easily, 3) once the text is created into outlines, there are no font issues, and 4) it's as close to camera-ready as you'll get w/o publishing software. jacven -- it's simple, open a new document, set your dimensions at 3.5"x2". once it opens, setup guidelines for your margins at either 1/8" or 1/4". you can start your design now. pretty easy actually. ___________________

Illlustrator also ships with a ton of templates on the cd (I don't think they are installed by default). Check your goodies directory. There are templates from everything from NTSC title safe boundaries, to business cards, to cd labels. If you don't want to make your own layout document, that's a good place to start. ___________________ [i][size=1][color="black"]Only after disaster can we be resurected. if you are printing these off on a printer of your own you have to be careful because every printer is off in different directions. if you are printing this at a print house then you don't need to worry about a template. just make sure you know how much space they need from the edge for your text and if you use bleeds how far they have to go over. also if you are looking for good templates do a search for bc printers and a lot of them have temps you can download that they use. good luck! |
