photo to caricature
I don't know if that's what you veterans call it, but how can you make this

, a caricature or drawn version out of a standard/real photo?
I was thinking Filter>Cutout layered below Image>Threshold.. but the results are just far from it...
Thanks for the help.
------
I first posted this at the Adobe Photoshop forum but I was told that the image was a vector graphic... hope you guys can help me..

yeh that was a vector drawn image, probably using a reference pic..
i dont think an effect to that extent can be made with a photoshop filter, although maybe that, mixed with some painting over the top or vectoring over the top..
heres a tut on some vectoring from scratch...

hope that helps..

whoah... didn't know the process would take that long.. The tutorial was in photoshop, what if I used illustrator? Would it shorten the process?
Thanks for the link.

yes, but not significantly in my opinion...
illustrator is designed for vector yes.. but for a project like this, i believe photoshop could pull off the effect just as well..
but illustrator is probably the way to go

illustrator is ideal for this type of image ... i don't know why people are so hung up on photoshop when they need vector images. photoshop is cheaper, but not by that much.
and, if you get someone who is experienced with it, it won't take long.
