Advice for a beginner
Hello,
I am new to the corel line of products. My graphic design skills all lie in Adobe Photoshop.
I would like to learn how to use CorelDRAW, I have version 11.
It would help me out to know what type of graphics CorelDRAW is used for. Also I would like to know where to find some good beginner tutorials.
Any and all advice is welcome and appreciated. Thanks.
I would love to learn to make logos. Is CorelDRAW good for this?
Thanks everyone, I look forward to your replies.

Hi, welcome to TF
CorelDRAW creates vector graphics.
If you don't know what vector graphics are, take a look at this sticky (btw, you can find several stickies at the top of each forum): http://tutorialforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=63602
It can create logos. The great thing about creating logos in CDRAW is that they can be printed in any size (if you are in the graphic design industry) or easily converted into web based graphics (in case you are more into web design).
However, since you are more familiar with the Adobe products, it might be better for you to try Adobe Illustrator - if you can get it. Although CDRAW can seem easier to work with than AI, it doesn't have as many features as the other program, not to mention that it puts so many registry files in your system that for the "good health" of your computer its better not to have it installed in the first place. But lets keep the Corel vs Adobe vs Macromedia discussion aside (but if you are interested there are several threads regarding this lying around in the forum, just use the search engine at the bottom area and you'll find them)...
I don't know about tutorials for CDRAW, but you might try searching for some in the good old www.google.com. Since logos are what most people want to do anyway, you'll probably find more tutorials on this than on the other tools that it has to offer.
