Thanks for all the comments. The plain look is there for a reason. Let me explain my thought process and maybe this will makes sense or...I have it all wrong.

The site needs to be a neutral color for one. The target audience is the Military. So...no favoritism when it comes to the colors.

I wanted to draw more attention to the products and not the header or anything else. It is the products that will make this person money, not having the graphics jump off the screen at you.

As far as the layout, would having the header and the site in the center be a better way to present the site?

Next, does anyone know of a good e-commerce package? I am looking towards making the site using MIVA. (hosting?payment gateway?the works)

Has anyone out there used MIVA and if so...was it worth the $$.

The site in my opinion should look a little generic/basic since it is there to sell products.

Just some thoughts and questions. Thanks again for the input.

you can also code it yourself using php/mysql so it would be free. I use this asp cart once for a project with an acess db as backend, they're way you can use to verify credit card yourself but it's not as "safe" as a verification with the bank institution. there's also package for card verification.

oh and if you setup his database and shopping cart, I would charge more than 40$.

I hade to change the header and the color scheme. I found a site on the net today that had the exact same look.

So? If you have any thoughts on this new look? I would appreciate your comments.

i like this version better, but im not a fan of the header...
make ur content area grey, white seems so default and out of place..

the nav looks a bit better
