Site Redesign

Greetings folks havn't been here in a while. But anyhow, once again I have recreated my baseball league site. I'm happy with the layout, but I'm having problems setting up the content in a presentable fashion. I always have problems with that. I was hoping I could get some direction or maybe someone take a look at what I got and see if they could come up with something hip. I can do the work myself, just need some direction or if possible a quick image of a possible solution. Here is what I have so far. I included a pic and also a link to the site so you can see the mess I have on there now.

Looks pretty good to me. The grey shadow behind the nav makes it a bit hard to read. I would suggest either getting rid of the shadow or change the color of the words to make them stand out more. Speaking of shadows, the shadow on the main content area only goes down the sides. You should include a shadow with the footer to make it look more realistic.

My only big concern with your site would be copyright infringement. Do you have a legal right to use those pics? Is that Pudge Rodriguez in your header? It looks like him, but I'm not certain.

It's Albert Pujols from the cover of MVP Baseball 2004, I didn't know it was copy infringement to use that. I thought it was only if you're using it for profit. All online sim leagues use pictures from their respective pro league.

Its not a copyright infringement unless your making profit. Also, once the site is complete below the footer i'll put some copyright statements concering EASPORTS and MLB. And no that is not Pudge on the header. It is Pujols.

Ok as I mentioned on my first post, now that I'm satisfied with the layout, I'm afraid to put anything on it in fear that I will ruin the layout. I've never been good at coming up with a presentable way to arrange the content. I was hoping you guys would have some suggestions.

For the news page I was thinking about getting rid of the pujols pic on the left, but havnt decided on how to arrange the content and what type of content box to use, if any. I want to have a poll on the main page, active forum topics, some quick stats like top 5 leaders in a couple categories, and quick links to articles or features.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. If they could even provide a graphical demonstration, that would be even more helpful. Thx again guys for all the help and suggestions!

I have to agree w/ shadowlab that you should think about the shadowing behind your Nav.
