Please someone tell me how to do this

I'm trying to figure out how to make the ends of a picture fade into one color. I know that's probably confusing so here's an example at the bottom. See how it fades where the guitar is and it fades to white. How do I do that? Thanks.

there is a couple of ways that you might do that. But, try this one first.

Use you rectangular marquee and draw an area around a portion that you would want to delete. Then press [crtl+alt+D] to bring up to "feather selection" dialoge box. Then enter a number value and hit enter. Now press "delete" or "backspace" and you will see your feathered selection. Then you would just add a new layer and fill it with a color and move below the feathered image.

[edit] ooopps ... i just noticed that this was in the paint shop pro section. you may want to disregard that method as it is more for photoshop.
