Illustrator CS vs Corel Draw 12

Im new to using vector programs and basically am wondering which people generally prefer and if possible why one is preferred to the other.

Never CorelDRAW, ever!
If you want to compare decent programs the best choices are Illustrator (personal favorite) and Freehand.

well rather than specifi versions of illustrator and corel then how about just in general.

i know bits and pieces get added on with each new release but in the main which program gets your vote

IMO Illustrator > CorelDraw if you're just going on general programs (We have one single copy of CorelDraw on our school computers which I have used like, once)
