Modifying Anchor Points
I'm using Illustrator 10 and would like to know how I can change an Anchor Point without changing the curve. For example, say I have a triangle with the point at the top middle and the other two ends on the bottom. I would like to make it so the top is directly over the right angle instead of the middle. How can I click on the Anchor Point and change it without rounding it off? I have tried the selection tool, direct selection tool, regular pen tool and convert anchor tool and it nothing works.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Use the direct selection tool. You said you tried that one already, but that is the one you want to use. If you can't figure it out, just play around for a while, trying some things like this:
Make sure you have nothing selected (Ctrl-Shft-A) and then draw a box around the point you want to move, using the direct selection tool.
Or, make sure you have nothing selected and click directly on the point. Then move it.
I hope that helps.
